Pyrometric Bar Cones, better known as firing cones, are placed inside the kiln sitter and are used for measuring the firing temperature of the kiln.
The cone responds by bending at the required temperature and turns off the kiln.
One pyrometric bar cone is used for each firing and they are supplied in packs of 50 units.
