Cress E1814 kiln outer skin replacement Kit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure supply of correct part for a kiln, the compliance plate MUST be supplied by email to accompany order
Replacing the exterior metal casing or banding of a kiln is sometime required when the original skin is rusted, damaged, or falling apart, even if the internal insulation (firebricks or ceramic fiber) is still in good condition.
Replacing the skin will help with the structural integrity of your kiln as it provides support and holds the insulating materials together. The skin also works to protect the internal components from external damage and environmental factors like moisture.
When the metal banding or skin fails completely it can damage other parts of your kiln or cause the lid to fall apart, simply tightening it might be a temporary fix, but a full replacement may be necessary to ensure the kiln's safe and efficient operation.
Ceramicraft sell both the full kiln skin and lid band replacements depending on your requirements.
