If your Cress kiln is showing a STUC error or the control panel won’t respond, don’t panic.
Sometimes keys can get a little stuck and in some cases, dust or debris can enter the control box and interfere with the ribbon connection between the keypad and control board. This can cause the keypad to become unresponsive or trigger a STUC error .

Below is a simple step-by-step process you can follow to check and resolve the issue.
If the buttons on the control panel are stuck or you receive the STUC error code apply light heat using a hair dryer or something similar to the front of the control panel (not too close to the panel as it should be warm not too hot). This maybe enough to release them, and if you are still having an issue follow the steps below.
Ensure the kiln is completely disconnected from power.
Carefully remove the keypad from the main panel to access the back of the control board.
You will see a flat plastic ribbon cable connected to the control board (as shown in the images above).
Gently disconnect this ribbon from the board.

Using a soft cloth, gently wipe the exposed end of the ribbon cable.
Use compressed air to blow out the socket where the ribbon connects to the board.
This helps remove fine dust that may be preventing proper contact.
Firmly and carefully reconnect the ribbon cable to the control board. Ensure it is seated evenly and securely.
Reassemble the keypad panel and secure it properly.
Plug the kiln back in and power it on.
Check to see if:
If the error remains after completing these steps, you may need a new Cress kiln control board
