How to Use an Orton SRB Junior Cone:
- Position the Cone – Place it in an Orton 3-Hole Plaque or a suitable holder inside the kiln.
- Monitor the Firing – As the kiln reaches its designated heatwork level, the cone will begin to bend.
- Analyze the Results –
- A properly fired cone bends to 90 degrees (tip touching the base).
- If the cone is too upright, the firing was under-fired.
- If it bends too much or collapses, the firing was over-fired.
